Do you care about climate change? Your opinion counts!

The Climate Change strategy simulator closed at midnight Sunday 4 July 2021.

We are currently engaging on our draft Climate Change Strategy.  If climate change matters to you, then we want to hear your thoughts.  We have put together an interactive engagement tool for you to use to feedback your priorities and ideas.

The purpose of this tool is to give you the chance to identify what your priorities would be if you were looking at the strategy.

You’ll be presented with a number of options which reflect choices we could make to contribute to reducing our carbon emissions as well as our impact on the environment.

You will be asked to allocate 100 points on different initiatives for tackling climate change in the areas of:

  • Resource use
  • Energy Consumption
  • Planning & Development
  • Transport
  • How the Council operates its assets
  • Natural Environment
  • How we should adapt to the effects of climate hange
  • Actions that business can take

You will be able to select how many points you would like to allocate and will be shown the potential impact.  For further information click the 'i' on the left of each proposal. You will be able to see how many points you have remaining in the top right-hand corner. On each page you will be able to leave comments of any further ideas you have.

Your response will help us understand your priorities and inform the decisions we make in the future, which in turn will help develop the Council’s final strategy and annual action plan.

Good luck!
